Form Purpose: To petition for an alien worker to become a permanent resident in the United States. This form is filed on behalf of an alien, and not by the alien.

Where to File: File this form with the Service Center with jurisdiction over the state where the alien will be employed. Use the addresses listed below when mailing Form I-140, and associated forms and correct fees, to the USCIS. Please note that there may be different addresses if you are filing only Form I-140 or if you are filing it concurrently with Form I-485.

If the alien's employment will be in Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, or Nevada, mail the petition to:

    For All I-140s:

If the alien's employment will be in Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin or Wyoming, mail the petition to:
