TN
Visas
Trade NAFTA
Professionals:
TN1 Visa- Canadian professionals
TN2 Visa- Mexican Professionals
The Trade NAFTA (North
America Free Trade Agreement between the U.S., Canada, and Mexico) visa
category is a viable alternative for Canadian ("TN-1") and Mexican ("TN-2")
professionals seeking to work on a temporary basis in the United States. TN
status is only available to Canadian and Mexican professionals seeking entry
to engage in one of the professions listed under the NAFTA, and only if the
applicant possesses the relevant educational degree, work experience or
background for that occupation.
"TN-1" Visas (Canadian Professionals): The "TN-1" status offered to
Canadian citizens seeking admission to the United States provides
streamlined application procedures at ports of entry and the absence of a
limit on the total number of TN-1 admissions granted.
