Non-Immigrant Visa
Appointments for interviews must be scheduled online through Visa
Information website:
www.us-visaservices.com or by calling 003-08-131-420
from within Korea (M-F, 10:00 AM-8:00 PM).
Applicants who are between 55-79 years old and
their spouse who are applying for visitor (B) visas, and diplomatic
and official passport holders may call 003-08-131-420
to schedule an appointment that is valid for 30 days. Please call for
more details.
All NIV applicants are required to obtain MRV
fee receipts from Shinhan Bank.
To pay the MRV fee, the purchaser is
required to submit a completed "U.S. Visa Processing Fee Application
Form," provided at all Shinhan Bank branches, and a copy of the
applicant's identification card. The MRV fee receipt shows the applicant's
name and KID number, and can only be used by that applicant.
The NIV processing fee is US$100 and can be paid for at any Shinhan Bank branch within Korea. The processing fee is payable only in
Korean Won and is based on the daily exchange rate at the bank. All NIV
applicants, including children listed in a parent's passport, if applying
for a U.S. NIV, must pay the processing fee. The bank will give each
applicant a receipt showing payment. This fee receipt must be submitted
with each application at the time of submission. Applicants cannot pay the
processing fee at the Embassy.
Each
visa application must be processed on its own, even for family members who
apply together. Due to various processing times, even if you have a visa
interview with your family members on the same day, everyone's visa may
not be ready on the same day. Therefore we ask that each passport have a
separate courier slip attached.
Waiver
of Ineligibility reminder:
Effective immediately all applicants who require a waiver of ineligibility
in order to receive a US Visa are required to submit their application and
request for waiver no later than two months prior to their planned travel
date. If you are an applicant who knows that you will be required to have
fingerprints taken in conjunction with your waiver, please allow an
additional month for that processing.
Visa Waiver Program (VWP) reminder: As announced by
Department of Homeland Security in June, passports issued on or after
October 26, 2005, to VWP citizens must include a digital photo in order to
be valid for VWP travel to the U.S. Travelers whose passports do not meet
this biometric requirement will need to obtain a valid U.S. visa for
admission into the United States.
VWP travelers with machine-readable passports issued before October 26,
2005 do not need to obtain new passports or visas in order to travel to
